The Process of Applying Window Tint Film Packages at Top Tier Detailers

Step 1: Preparation

First, the vehicle's windows are thoroughly cleaned to remove any dirt, debris, and adhesive residues from any previously installed window treatments. The reason our detailing team does this is to fully ensure that the window tint film will adhere properly to the glass windows of what you drive. The window dimensions are then measured, and each piece of window tint film is cut to fit the window precisely, leaving absolutely NO room for error.

Step 2: Application

When the time comes for applying the pieces to your window tint film package here at Top Tier Detailers, a special application solution is sprayed onto the window surface to help the tint adhere and to fully eliminate air pockets, bubbles, and ripples. The window tint film is carefully applied to the window’s INTERIOR surface, starting from one edge and working towards the other. Our certified tinting experts utilize a squeegee to smooth out any bubbles or imperfections as we go along with your installation.

Step 3: Curing

This step continues well after you pick your vehicle up from Top Tier Detailers; however, it BEGINS wherever we install your window tint film package. Immediately following the window tint installation procedure we utilize here, the products need time to dry and adhere fully to the window surface. Your vehicle is left in a dry, warm environment to allow the adhesive to fully cure, which features a time frame that is suggested by our trusted manufacturer. DO NOT roll your windows down until the full curing process has been completed, and be sure to consider professional detailing for maintenance purposes.

Know Before You Buy: Window Tinting Regulations for Florida

Even if you are a complete vehicle aficionado, there are still areas where most find they need help understanding. Window tinting and the regulations that are involved are a frequent area of uncertainty for vehicle owners, especially here in the Sunshine State. Because there are so many vehicle owners that want specialized window tint film packages that we provide here at Top Tier Detailers, we have decided to take educating our valued customers into our own hands and break down the rules and regulations of window tinting laws across the state of Florida.

Read below to discover more about regulations surrounding window tint film darkness and reflectiveness:

Window tint film darkness is all gauged by something we refer to as Visible Light Transmission, or VLT for short. This has to do with how much light is allowed through any given window tint film. For windshields, all-size vehicles are only allowed a window tint film strip that comes down to the manufacturer's AS-1 line. The front side windows of any size vehicle must allow for up to 28% of visible light transmission in. Where these numbers differ is with regard to rear windows and windshields. Smaller vehicles must have window tint film packages that allow for up to 15% VLT while larger vehicles can have window tint film packages that only allow up to 6% VLT.

Window tint film reflectiveness regulations are far more simple to determine. Front side windows on any vehicle can be no more than 25% reflective here in the state of Florida, while backside windows must be only 35% reflective. Do you find that you have more questions about these rules and regulations? If so, please call Top Tier Detailers today at (786) 300-8355 to speak to one of our professionals.
